Performance Corrugated, Inc., A CeCorr Company, recently opened a 135,000 square foot facility at the Devens Commerce Center in Devens, Massachusetts. Performance Corrugated Inc. makes three-sheet corrugated cardboard paper at the rate of 700 million square feet per year.
According to Guilford Rail Systems’ Marketing and Sales Representative Dick Willey, “We expect to bring approximately 400 boxcars of rolled pulp board up from Louisiana and Georgia, onto a new side track and right into their building.”
Plant Manager Bill Roberts said the advantages of shipping by rail over trucks are basic. “We can bring in one rail car for every 2 ˝ trucks. In one shipment Guilford Rail delivers what used to take 10 truckers.”
