CN’s New England Clipper Service, operated under contract with Guilford Rail System and the New Brunswick Southern Railway, offers you seamless service between Halifax and Boston (Ayer).
It provides conveniences for both overseas and domestic customers - Intermodal Marketing Companies, Forwarders, truck lines and steamship lines - who have shipments moving between overseas markets or the coast of Canada and New England. TIME ON YOUR SIDE
This service is being launched with dedicated unit trains departing Halifax every Wednesday, providing second morning availability in Boston (Ayer). That means your goods can be delivered to your New England market on Friday morning.
IT WORKS BOTH WAYS
If you’re shipping to Halifax, use our dedicated unit train that departs Friday - your domestic shipment will be available for pick-up at the CN terminal on Sunday evening or first thing on Monday morning. Your overseas shipment will be switched in Halterm and Ceres to meet your ship connections.

Containers transferred from ship to a train in Halifax can arrive well in advance of those transferred from the same ship calling at a US eastern seaboard port.

Through CN, you are assured of trouble-free customs clearances. Using electronic data interchange (EDI) and fax technology, our team begins processing your shipment for clearance many hours - even days - before your shipment reaches the border.
You simply send complete waybill and customs documentation to CN by fax or EDI. WE co-ordinate with brokers and customs while your shipment is still at origin.
Your trailer or container clears customs without delay.
