Pan Am Acquires American CASA

Pan American Airlines has completed the acquisition of California-based American CASA/National Air, a leading provider of repair services and parts for the Spanish-built CASA 212 twin turboprop aircraft. American CASA/National Air’s F.A.A. certified repair station, including its management and mechanics, will be relocated to separate facilities at the Pease International Tradeport, to be operated as part of Pan Am’s non-airline affiliate, Pan Am Services, which already owns one CASA aircraft and is awaiting delivery of another.

President Dave Fink stated that “the addition of American CASA’s renowned service and parts operation will strengthen and support our establishment of Pan Am Services as the region’s premier provider of general and corporate aviation service, and will enhance our ongoing efforts to attract business and create employment opportunities here at the Pease Tradeport.”

Pan Am is in the final stages of relocating its administrative headquarters and operations offices to the maintenance facility which it opened at Pease in December 1998. Mr. Gordon R. Long, General Manager of American CASA, will assume responsibility for Pan Am Services’ fixed base operations at Pease, including a soon-to-be-completed aircraft fuel facility and a corporate aviation hangar to be constructed later this year.
