Maintenance Base Up and Running at Pease

Airline operations and administrative officers have moved from Ft. Lauderdale to Pan Am’s maintenance base at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, joining the other members of the Pan Am team to create a cohesive group to manage the airline’s growing business.

The Maintenance Department got a head start, having been fully operational since mid-December, with employment in that department nearing eighty workers operating around the clock.

“It is a tribute to the hard work of many people that this state-of-the-art facility has been conceived, developed and put into operation in such a short period of time,” Bob Mencel said. “Looking at the base today, one would think it has been operational for years yet it only came together in the last few months because of the vision of Dave Fink and his commitment to create a world-class facility that we all can be proud of,” Mr. Mencel pointed out.
