Changes in Top Management

On June 29, Judge A. Jay Cristol approved the restructuring/acquisition plan for Pan American Airways submitted by principals of Guilford Transportation Industries. The importance of the revitalization of Pan Am was quickly seen as Dave Fink left the Presidents chair at Guilford Rail to devote his expertise to the airline. While he officially relocated to the corporate office in Nashua, New Hampshire, he has spent much of his time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the Pan Am operations are managed, and Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where Pan Am has acquired a huge hangar for aircraft maintenance functions. More of the Pease Hangar may be seen elsewhere in this issue of the GuilfordXpress.
The leadership of Guilford Rail has been assumed by Tom Steiniger, as President. Tom moves up from the Marketing and Sales Department, where he had been Senior Vice President. David A. Fink has joined the railroad group as Executive Vice President. David continues as President at Perma Treat Corporation and Aroostook and Bangor Resources Company.
Mike Holmes, formerly the head of the Accounting and Finance Department at Guilford Rail, and John Nadolny, former Vice President and General Counsel at the railroad, also have moved up to Guilfords Nashua headquarters. Their time and abilities have been heavily involved in the Pan Am acquisition and it is anticipated that the effort of each, Mike as Senior Vice President- Finance at GTI and John as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at GTI, will be in demand even more as Pan Am grows.
Dick Willey, formerly Vice President of Sales and Industrial Development, now leads the Marketing and Sales Department as Senior Vice President, assisted by Joe Crawford, Vice President of Marketing and Phil Kingman, Vice President of Sales. Sonya Clay, formerly Comptroller at Guilford Rail, is now Vice President-Accounting and Finance at the railroad, leading that department. Lenny Carey has been appointed Assistant Vice President and Treasurer while Bob Auclair is Comptroller. Mr. Robert Culliford has joined Guilford Rail as Corporate Counsel. Rob is a graduate of Boston College and St. Johns Law School.
Other changes in the organization include Jeff Miller, promoted to Assistant Comptroller, Revenue; Tina Richardson is now Director Revenue Systems; Mike Frain, appointed Director-Financial Planning; Karen Landry, promoted to Staff Accountant, and Cheryl Stokes has joined us as Payment Coordinator in the Account Payables department. Finally, Larry Franchitto has been promoted to Manager Pension Benefits and Special Projects.
Lots of changes! We wish each person who has a new assignment great success, and welcome to those who are new to Guilford Rail.
