Guilford Rail System, along with E.W. Larson Reload, Inc., recently opened a facility at North Billerica, MA. Larson Reload is a major freight car unloading and trucking company, which transloads many commodities such as lumber, steel, brick, etc. all over New England. They work with other carriers to put together complete packages to other East Coast destinations.
“This new location has allowed us to expand into northern markets,” said Larson Reload President Carl Larson, who operates this third generation business with cousin and Vice President Fred Larson. “By bringing the freight here as opposed to Boston we avoid traffic congestion and can move our products more efficiently.”
The facility includes a two acre paved lay-down area with ramp and the ability to unload centerbeam equipment. With a track capacity of 10 cars, this lighted secure site also offers undercover storage.
